The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics was established in 2005 at the University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez. Since then, AIAA-UPRM Chapter provided the necessary tools needed in the aerospace industry through:

The American Insitute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, UPRM Student Chapter visions diversity and innovative opportunities that will enhance our members dynamic merge, leadership, capabilities and technical development.
The association will work to develop the mmebers'professional knowledge by sponsoring meetings which will bring industry professionals to spread educational awareness. This way, members will enjoy and gain a broader insight view of the different professional possibilities that the aerospace industry provides. Members will be able to grow in the aerospace industry ans construct capabilities for the advancement of engineering, science and business to stand out as leaders.
